The addition of the complex terms and concepts of science can make learning even more difficult. What seems normal speed to a native speaker is extremely fast to a language learner or to a student with a hearing impairment. Speak slowly, distinctly, and write down key terms – Anyone who has learned a foreign language in class, then traveled to a country where the language is spoken, has noticed that it is difficult to understand natives because they seem to “talk too fast”. Use a variety of methods to see which work best with your teaching style and students. Many of the strategies that are useful for English language learners are effective for differentiating instruction for other students as well. Difficulty learning English should not be confused with an inability to think scientifically. Science has a complex vocabulary that is difficult even for native English speakers to learn. The science classroom is often a frustrating place for English language learners. In this section we reference ELL strategies and activities that are found throughout this book. The Institute of Education Sciences of the United States Department of Education defines English language learners (ELL) as: “Individuals who (1) were not born in the United States or whose native language is a language other than English or (2) come from environments where a language other than English is dominant or (3) are American Indians and Alaskan Natives and who come from environments where a language other than English has had a significant impact on their level of English proficiency and who, by reason thereof, have sufficient difficulty speaking, reading, writing, or understanding the English language, to deny such individuals the opportunity to learn successfully in classrooms where the language of instruction is English or to participate fully in our society.” Today’s science teachers must be prepared to teach students whose first language is not English. For example, in 2002, nearly 42% of students in Los Angeles Unified School District, the second largest district in the country, were classified as English language learners. Most of this increase in diversity was due to immigration from Latin America and Asia, and with this increase in ethnic diversity came a corresponding increase in linguistic diversity. In 2003, 42 percent of American public school students were of racial or ethnic minorities, up 22 percent from 30 years before. When you get the opportunity and follow Diaz around the corner when he moves. When you get to the pier you will need to climb up and plant C4. Now it's time to take a swim! Follow Diaz and when a boat comes in to investigate, stay low and keep still. Kill them however you wish when they break off. Now you have to shoot the radio inside of the building to the right of the remaining two guards to separate them. The third target is on the right side circling a building, tag him when he goes to the far left. To the top left is a building with a sniper that has to be eliminated before you are spotted. Your first target is the guard fixing the boat on your lower right, followed by the one leaning on the boat. Turn right and go inside the shack a bit and SECRET ITEM 2 is to your right on top of a box under the stairs.įollow Diaz and climb into the busted plane to set up a sniping position. Climb up and kill the guard on the right to clear the way to the path forward. Walk under and around the corner, then wait till the guards pass. Once it's clear, move forward and follow the instructions of your spotter till you get under the pier. Listen to Diaz and take out targets when necessary. You and Diaz will each kill a soldier with a knife. Continue following through the water until you hit land. You will be eliminating a few enemies and then you will be traversing through the water. After you equip your thermal and shoot the guard in the shack through the wood wall, make sure to go inside the shack to find SECRET ITEM 1. Welcome to the jungle! Walk forward, climb up the ledge and follow your spotter. Also, once you collect a secret, it will be permanently saved to your save file so you wont have to collect it again (unless you delete your save file). These "secrets" are collectibles that are strewn across each mission. There are 3 total trophies that are tied to the campaign "secrets". The game is full of checkpoints so you don't have to worry about redoing an entire mission if you fail. You need to adjust your sniping shots for windage and bullet drop, but it really isn't too bad. Do not be afraid that the campaign will be too hard for you on this difficulty. Grab your gear and get ready for an awesome sniping experience! I am assuming you will be playing on the Expert difficulty. Welcome to the Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 campaign! Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist deeply hydrates the skin. Coupled with the fact that this formula uses silk extract and royal jelly, which are non-vegan ingredients, I don’t plan to re-purchase this mist. Compared to other mists, like The Jasmine Garden by May Lindstrom or Odacite’s Aloe & Immortelle mist, I didn’t notice any long-term difference in my skin’s hydration. In particular, I want to know if the public and livery exclusion of a personal auto policy would apply to a situation such as this, or if this would not be considered a livery situation. Q I am trying to find out if there are any court cases on the use of a private passenger auto in delivery of items, such as newspapers or pizza. DOES PERSONAL AUTO POLICY EXTEND COVERAGE TO DELIVERY OF PIZZA? Interest rates on investments are next to nothing. I had to go through Fifth-Third Bank to finance my truck (whose interest rates are phenomenal). They wouldn't fund a truck for me, and if they did, they would set my payments at over $500/month, something that shocked me. I have no experience with interest rates as far as loans go, simply because I chose not to go through FSNB for my auto loan. It seemed very unnecessary to me, as I've always understood statements to be something a bank was obliged to send me as a courtesy for banking with them. This fee could be waived if I sign up for e-Statements, which cancels paper statements, and this charge is an additional charge on top of any service charge I might incur. Now I am charged $3.00 every month for paper statements. Until recently, paper statements were an obligatory privilege provided to me by the bank. This is really an attempt to encourage ATM use, so I understood. Withdrawal slips at teller stations are $1.25 unless certain conditions are met. I did, however, find some fees to be unnecessary. I rarely used Overdraft Protection, but when I did, it was only $19.75 per transaction, and I was not charged for every day my account was negative. I rarely used other ATMs, and so didn't have a problem with foreign ATM fees of $1.50. So long as I had a direct deposit of at least $300/month, my account came with no service charge. During my time with FSNB, I had the Career Checking account. Interest Rate & Cost: I gave this 3 stars simply because of my experiences with their fees. I plan to simply inform you of my experiences, how they made me feel, and what measures were taken to satisfy me as a customer. I won't exaggerate my satisfaction and tell you my experience was the absolute best. I won't dramatize my experience and tell you to run as fast as you can. Was this review helpful to you? They have their busy moments, but they have been swift and helping everyone. I am always greeted and helped straight away. One of the tellers, Lamia, helps the customers really well and explains things to everyone in a way for them to understand. It has finally slowed down and there has been some familiar faces. Over the past year at this location, there has been a lot of new people working. She always has a smile on her face and greets everyone that comes in like there family. She has always been helpful, especially with helping me get a loan and clearing some fraudulent charges off my account. Amy, the bank manager, was at the Charlotte location but came to this location. I haven't seen a team like that in my years on this earth. The Management team here is strong and always help the CSR's when they need help. The tellers look professional and their uniforms always clean and presentable. But, the bank is well organized and clean. Its pricey but gives you early direct deposit, FREE 5 Star Online Banking with Bill Pay and Text Banking, and free Checks after a 200.00 accumulated balance. They offer an assortment but the best accounts for people in middle or upper level incomes would be the advanced checking or secure rewards checking. Now the fees can be some trouble to the lower income families who are opening an account. I always go to the Dickerson Pike Branch to do my transactions. Overall, FSNB has been really good to me. |
